Aging is hard. Sometimes the unthinkable happens and one is unable to care for their beloved equine. Perhaps another member's heart horse has passed. This group is to bring them people together. No rehoming fees. Vet check and transportation determined by parties involved.

    • A Leg Up
Aging Horsewomen is a Community built on the shared love of horses. For many the community has become family. Sometimes family members need help. The women here have big hearts and a desire to help. Some have deep pockets as well. SO HOW CAN WE HELP? Our website. 1/5 of membership fees go to our emergency fund. The chapter admins check validity of requests for help in their area. The request is then reviewed by charity committee. This is a work in progress and we Need You. Please consider becoming a Chapter Admin. Volunteer to set up our charity review board.

    • AHI Southern Adirondacks NY
Hi! I have a camp near Great Sacandaga in Day, NY. My horse travels there with me almost every weekend, but sadly I have yet to find any other trail riders in the area. I have tons of vacation time and can come up at other times as well. I'd love to find more riders for organized trips, last minute day trips and lots of fun adventures! I look forward to meeting new members and getting on those beautiful trails.

    • Bucky, the blind horse by Cathy Padgett
When I first saw a photo of him I reached out to help once the owner stepped forward. I offered food, hay and transport. Then suddenly there was no reply from owner but they had told me he was being moved to a pasture. I let my mind believe this and hoped it was true. It was not. He’s been starved, dehydrated, tied to the ground with no idea where he was because he is also blind. At one point he tangled in the rope, he was a prisoner to, and both back legs were cut and burned by the rope. He appears to have also pulled a muscle and is sore. He didn’t look well when I first saw him and he looks even worse now. This didn’t have to go this far and he didn’t deserve to be treated so poorly.

    • Confidence-Based Horsemanship
As a horsemanship coach I focus on a holistic approach to our relationship with horses that includes spiritual, emotional, physical and mental well-being of both horse and rider. This group is about developing a deeper understanding of the horse human relationship. By exploring a deeper awareness of ourselves and how we engage with our horses and even others in our lives, we can gain more insight to how our horses respond to us. I am extremely passionate about bridging the gap between horses and humans to create true unity. I am an animal communicator, veterinary technician, reiki master teacher, I love bringing aromatherapy to the work I do with horses and humans.

    • EquiHeart Yoga
We all have those little aches and pains, or feel a little stiff and unbalanced and we want to find ways to overcome these issues so we can keep riding. We want to feel balanced, strong and safe in the saddle. We are here to talk about yoga and other ways to move our bodies to help us feel better. There is so much more to yoga than just the poses, meditation, feeling at peace, learning to breathe to aide us when we feel anxious and having an open heart. We can bring all of this to our horses, they are extremely sensitive to us and we can work together with our horses have an even stronger partnership with them. So in this group we have so much to talk about, so join in the conversation and start feeling better in mind, body and spirit and deepen your connection with your horse.

    • FAQ

      Tech help.

???How do I navigate this website?
On the Home page there are three ways, 1) Scroll down to Members Area – Groups -Events 2) The Green Bar at the top of the page 3) Hover over Howdy your name
???What is the difference between Groups and Forums?
      a. Groups are a thing that each user can pick and choose to be apart of. There can be updates and events posted for that group. Then all members of that group would be able to see.  Members are encouraged to create groups that interest them.
      b. Forums are essentially a public chatting area. Each forum you have access to, you would be able to see posts from anyone that posts there. Someone from Germany posting a health tip, everyone would be able to see. If a member wants to make a Forum they first must make a Group. (It is a computer thing.)
???How do I determine size of my group?
A group for a breed or a discipline will include the world. A group for a specific breed and discipline in a certain region narrows it considerably.

    • Honey, a Pony's Story by Honey as told to Sharon Kay Roberts
Honey's story is told primarily from the viewpoint of a small and injured pony. Confused and friendless at an auction she is befriended by a cowpony, now too old for strenuous work. Both are saved from the knacker's bid for the slaughterhouse by an old man, hoping that the two of them might save his granddaughter.

    • ID MyHorse
ID MyHorse strives to improve the safety and wellbeing of both horse and rider. We created a lightweight ID tag with reflective strips that easily braid into the mane or tail of a horse. Our tags stay put for weeks or months at a time and provide easily identifiable information in the event of an emergency. They are applicable in situations such as floods, fires, hurricanes, trailer accidents, injury or illness at horse camp or a horse show, accidents on the trail, or any other situation where a horse or rider might become injured.

    • In Memoriam – Your hoofprints are forever on my heart
I miss the smell of my horse; I miss the warmth of his kiss. I miss the strength of his hug; I miss our time together. I miss his listening ears; I miss his understanding heart. I miss his sweet breath; I hate this time apart. This group is for people to remember and share stories of their loves, their 'boyfriends' their mares, their geldings, their studs. Your heart horse or the one that just drove you crazy. We know how you feel. Please remember them here. We also care for our long ears and understand most of us horse people also have other critters. We invite you to remember them here too.
